I spoke with my creative writing professor today about grad schools, and he gave me a lot of really good information, and has already offered to write a letter of recommendation for me. That’s exciting. The problem is I will likely need two more letters of recommendations from two other professors, and I can’t say I’ve ever really developed a close enough relationship with any of my professors to feel like I can ask them, so that sucks. And with the deadlines for many grad schools approaching by the end of this semester, and plenty of other things to focus on besides letters of recommendation, I’m a little concerned I won’t be able to apply.
However, I did speak with my Eastern Mysticism professor for a little bit today about what an altered consciousness from psychedelic drugs means in terms of spiritual and mystical understandings of the world, and I’ve got a feeling I can just keep talking to him about that until he wants to write a letter of recommendation for me. Also, how cool is it that I talked to my professor about tripping, and not only was it completely acceptable, it created excellent and relevant conversation?
Anyway, I guess I need to start heavily researching graduate schools and writing a whole lot more if I realistically want to attend one next fall. We shall see what happens…
